Today I have the Moonstone Nail Polish’s 2015 Halloween
Trio to show you guys. This collection is inspired by the Unforgivable Curses from Harry
Potter. Avada Kedavra, the killing curse; Crucio, the torture curse; and
Imperio, a curse that lets the spell caster control the actions on another
being.
The
trio consists of different holographic polishes and are so gorgeous you just
want to look at them all day.
So
let’s get to the swatches!
Murder
is a dark green holographic with a green shimmer. Inspired by The Killing Curse (Avada
Kedavra), it has a small amount of flakies throughout it and a great
holographic shift, but the shimmer and sparks are the real hero in this polish.
There is an amazing emerald shimmer throughout that sparkles like crazy both
inside and outside and makes this polish eye catching at any time of the day. I
used three thin coats for the photos below but it was opaque in two.

Torture is a deep red/burgundy holographic and red shimmer. Inspired by The Cruciatus Curse (Crucio), it also has microglitter
and a bunch of gold flakies. It is also the most holographic of the trio and
the hardest to capture it’s true colour on camera. It can look from red to
purple on camera but looks very burgundy in person. It’s a very dramatic shade
with an amazing holographic base that really comes alive in direct sunlight. I
used two coats for the photos below.

Lastly, Control is a deep purple holographic with purple shimmer. Inspired
by The Imperius Curse (Imperio), it has blue and violet
sparks, purple microglitter and pink flakies. This is my favorite of the collection
because the base colour of is so beautiful but it also has a fantastic holographic throughout that takes it up a notch when it’s in direct sunlight. Depending on
the light it can appear to be both a red or blue based purple and a total beauty.

This is a beautiful collection that would make a great addition to your polish
collection. I don’t have anything like any of them in my large collection and
they always received compliments when I had them on my nails.
They are available from the 15th of October from www.moonstonenailpolish.com and
