Powder Perfect Limited Edition Anniversary Trio Swatches & Review

Hello polish lovers!

Today I have something pretty awesome for you to feast your eyes on. The Powder Perfect Limited Edition Anniversary Trio. Holo. Chameleon. Glitter. All in one. Or three. It's like someone compiled all the best things about polish and put them into one collection. And it is perfect. Powder Perfect.

This amazing limited edition trio by Powder Perfect is to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. Powder Perfect is an Australian indie cosmetic company and create some of the most amazing polishes, especially their glitters. I had no idea they were an Aussie indie company, although their badass-ness should have given them away ;)

The 2nd Anniversary trio is obviously three shades. All three pay homage to the cosmos.

Let's get to the swatches!

Fallen Star
What great fairy tale doesn’t start with a falling star?

The official description says:

“Fallen Star” references last year’s anniversary shade Storm Rainbow. It features swathes of holographic silver micro glitter in a light silver holographic base.
RRP $12AUD.

SO much holographic glitter. If I could bathe in a polish, this would be it. And I would look fabulous! It dries almost matte and slightly rough and was very thirsty with the top coat. I applied one thick-ish coat and could still feel the glitter bumps but it wasn't too rough feeling at all. This didn't bother me in the slightest because under a bright light and especially in the sunshine this polish comes ALIVE! It almost dances with sparkles. The fact that this dries almost matte means this can almost be a work appropriate shade if you don't work in the sunlight or under down lights! I used three thin coats for the photos below.

Microcosm
Experience a “small world” captured in a polish bottle with our Microcosm lacquer.

The official description says:

“Microcosm” is a beauty - she features a silver linear holographic base filled with blue/purple & pink/purple/blue/gold ultra chameleon chrome flakies. Microcosm can be worn as 1 coat over a base colour or worn alone with 2-3 coats.
RRP $13AUD

I didn't realise how holographic this was till I went out into the sun to swatch it. I put my hand out and actually gasped. Loudly. It's so beautiful and my camera failed in every way to capture how incredible this is. The glitter flakies threw me off with this one. I was so confused as to why they were in there on the first coat. By the second I realised it was because they were chameleon flakies. The flakies make this polish one type of polish in the shade and other in the sun. I love that. Most of the time holos fall flat inside but this one just keeps it amped up when it's 'off'.

Unobtainium
Unobtainium is the rarest of materials in the universe!

The official description says:

“Unobtainium” features copper/gold/magenta ultra chameleon chrome flakies packed into a silver linear holographic base. Unobtainium can be worn as 1 coat over a base colour (it looks amazing over lilac), or worn alone with 2-3coats.
RRP $13AUD

This one was the standout for me. So similar to Microcosm but also so different. Unobtainium stayed on my nails for three days. That's like three weeks for a nail blogger, trust me. I couldn't tell you why I preferred this more than Microcosm, but I think the chameleon was slightly stronger in this and I loved the copper/gold/magenta mix. I also picked up a lot of emerald green and I have no idea where it came from but I felt almost chameleon wearing it. This shade is incredible. In the sun, wow. In the shade, still wow!

The formula on all three are amazing, only needing three thin coats for full opacity but all three could easily be layered over another colour. Layering them will completely change the look of them and make application more simple.

The Powder Perfect Limited Edition Anniversary Trio is available from the 8th of August at 8am from www.powderperfect.com.au

You guys need this collection. It's incredible.

Congratulations on 2 years of making kick ass polish Powder Perfect!!
