Moonstone Nail Polish’s 2015 Halloween Trio Release: Swatches & Review

Hi guys,

Today I have the Moonstone Nail Polish’s 2015 Halloween Trio to show you guys. This collection is inspired by the Unforgivable Curses from Harry Potter. Avada Kedavra, the killing curse; Crucio, the torture curse; and Imperio, a curse that lets the spell caster control the actions on another being.

The trio consists of different holographic polishes and are so gorgeous you just want to look at them all day.

So let’s get to the swatches!

Powder Perfect Limited Edition Anniversary Trio Swatches & Review

Hello polish lovers!

Today I have something pretty awesome for you to feast your eyes on. The Powder Perfect Limited Edition Anniversary Trio. Holo. Chameleon. Glitter. All in one. Or three. It's like someone compiled all the best things about polish and put them into one collection. And it is perfect. Powder Perfect.

This amazing limited edition trio by Powder Perfect is to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. Powder Perfect is an Australian indie cosmetic company and create some of the most amazing polishes, especially their glitters. I had no idea they were an Aussie indie company, although their badass-ness should have given them away ;)

The 2nd Anniversary trio is obviously three shades. All three pay homage to the cosmos.

Let's get to the swatches!

Essie Australia Winter 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi all!

Today on the blog I have the Essie Australia Winter 2015 Collection to show you all. These were released in Winter 2014 in the US so they're not 'super new' for the rest of the world, but since our Winter has only just started, it makes sense that they're released here later.

I had swatched these 3 weeks ago and then before I could move them off my phone, it crashed and I lost EVERYTHING. I am only just getting back on top of my 'to swatch again because I lost the photos' collection, but these were at the top of that list.

The first word that comes to mind when I see these colours is ROMANTIC!

They are the perfect colour collection for any event or situation and I think they are all a must have for any polish loving girl. The formula in every polish was amazing and opaque and the wider Euro/Aussie brush makes application a breeze.

Sorry US branded Essie, your brush really sucks. Our brush totally wins!!

Below I have the full review of each shade.

Sideways Rainbow Gradient Nails! Yay!

Happy Friday!

Have you guys got any plans for this weekend? I'm going to be busy busy busy. Not sure if that's good or bad though.. We will see, come Monday!

Today on the blog I have a full detailed post about these rainbow bad boys.

I love me a good gradient and a good rainbow, so why not join both together and have amazing fingertips!? And why not do it sideways since I've never gradient-ed that way before. Now I'm just talkin' craaaazy!!

I used a tonne of polishes for these. They're all listed below.

My Swatch Stick Collection And How I Organise Them (with lots of rainbow photos!)

Happy Sunday guys!

I have something different for you all today. But hopefully something you’ll love! This is a post about how I organise my nail polishes… Not the actual bottles themselves, but my way of keeping them all in one place so I can choose and compare my polish colours. This is a post about my swatch sticks!!

Certain polishes look totally different on the nail than they do in the bottle (darker/lighter/shimmery/etc) and so the best way to see the ‘real’ colour of the polish is to have it on a swatch. Some people choose to use the swatch wheels and they’re okay if you have a small collection and don’t need to compare colours, but since my collection is reaching ridiculous levels, I sometimes need to compare hot pink #15 and hot pink #19. Swatch sticks are the perfect way to do this. They’re also really helpful for when you need a certain shade of blue, since they’re all organised by colour and they have a space for you to write what the name of the polish is (I also write how many coats I applied to get the opacity on the swatch).

Black Milk Inspired Mermaid Nails!! Plus A Video Tutorial!

Hey guys!

I'm SO excited to share this nail design with you tonight!

As a little girl I used to rush home from school most days to watch my VHS copy of 'The Little Mermaid' (generation Y, ask your parents or older siblings what a VHS is haha). My case was SO damaged it literally was snapped into two parts.

I used to sing the songs and dream about how amazing it would be to live in the sea. I used to sink under the waterline in our bath or 'mermaid kick' along the bottom of my pool and try to hold my breath as long as I could, thinking if I could learn to hold it long enough I'd be able to morph a tail and join King Triton's family.

Oh the life of a child. Except the child in me still hopes one day I'll still morph that tail. While I wait for that to happen, I'll just paint my nails with pretty glittery scales instead that are inspired by these Black Milk 'Merm-emerald' Leggings.

And they are SO pretty!!

But so are these...

I maaaaay have gone a little photo crazy, but can you blame me??

LOTS more photos and a few videos INCLUDING A TUTORIAL and a run down on everything I used after the jump :)

Donut Inspired Nail Tutorial!

Hi sweets!

Today, I have something extra sweet for you guys. I have seen a lot of doughnut nail art with full doughnuts, but it's a bit advanced so I thought I would show you a way to create some really simple and easy doughnut inspired nails that all skill levels can do and are easy to paint on both hands.

All you need is a light or medium pink polish, some colours to do the sprinkles with and a small dotting tool or toothpick.

Watch the video below to see how easy and quick these are to do!

Happy Hump Day guys!

Today I have a full tutorial and photos of these killer galaxy nails for you guys!

OPI Hawaii Collection Swatches & Review

Hi dolls,

Today I have some of the OPI Hawaii Collection for Spring/Summer 2015 to show you. Of course, that's Spring/Summer for those in the northern hemisphere and not us Aussies that are heading into winter. Thank goodness. I'm not a 'seasonal' polish wearer so I'm looking forward to rocking these shades through colder months.

This collection features mostly cremes and I am so happy about that. OPI cremes are my favorite and I love using them in nail art and on my toes.

But let's get into the swatches.

Beach Inspired Summer Nails

Happy Monday guys!

Today I have these easy summer nails that are inspired by the perfect beach. I imagine this beach is on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean somewhere...

They are really easy to do and the only tools you need are a makeup sponge and a thin nail art brush or striper brush.

These were inspired by @chorubim who was originally inspired by @chalkboardnails. The chain of crediting is easy peeps!

Blank Templates For Your Nail Art!

Hey everyone!

Back in May I created some blank nail art templates because I was sick of always drawing nail outlines when I wanted to create or document ideas to put on my nails at a later time.

The templates in action!!

I made them square and a medium length because that was the shape and length of my nails at the time, but when I posted a photo of them I had a tonne of people asking me to share them with them. So I made them downloadable in a post in June, but only the square shape, because that was my shape.

Since then, I have gained a lot more followers and a lot of other nail shapes are becoming more popular, so I am always being asked to make other shapes for people to download...

I made the claws, coffins, and squoval shortie shape and am working on ovals and rounded shorties to put up later (I really need to get to bed!).

Obsessed with Houndstooth and Essie Polish!

Happy Monday :)

I had a super relaxed Monday and slept till 1pm... that sounds bad BUT I was awake until 9:30am this morning reading the newest Colleen Hoover book. She is the only author that hasn't let me down yet, all her books are incredible! I definitely recommend buying all of her books if you enjoy romance or young adult books. Trust me!

Anyway, today I have for you a mani I did a couple of days ago. I received 12 beautiful polishes from Essie Australia's new Autumn/Fall collection, which will be up on the blog swatched this week, and was so inspired by so many lovely houndstooth manis on instagram lately that I just had to put some houndstooth on my nails using some of the amazing new Essie's I received.

Rimmel London Velvet Matte Collection Swatches & Review!

Hey guys!

In today's blog post I have swatches and reviews of Rimmel London's newly released Velvet Matte polishes. A quick Google search tells me these came out last year on the other side of the globe, but they have JUST been released in Australia.

Let me start by saying I have found my new favorite Matte polishes. Ever. I am in love, you guys. Not only are these the perfect Autumn/Fall colours but they are so damn pretty. Even my boyfriend, who usually looks at my nails when I show him with indifference and boredom, actually grabbed my hands and exclaimed they were 'awesome'!

If that's not a reason to go buy them then I don't know what is!!

The bottle is the same as all of Rimmel's Salon Pro nail polishes and has the awesome feature of the wide and flat brush. This makes these polishes so easy to apply and in only ONE stroke!! All four I could get ALMOST opaque on the first coat, and I'm really picky with what I call opaque. For most people these are one coat to opaque, but I like them to be solid colour when I hold them up to light, so for my preference they needed two coats for that.

For most people though, one coat and one stroke application means you can get all nails painted and done in one minute or less. Great for last minute polish application before dashing out the door. It's really that easy.

I found it easiest to apply the polish a little thicker than I would most polishes, but matte polish tends to dry a lot faster, and with it being only one coat, drying time is less than 2 minutes to 100% dry. Applying the coats a little thicker than normal reduces any bumps and brush lines that matte polishes tend to get because you can't top coat it to smooth it out.

My Second Gay Pride Nails & Video Tutorial :)

Hello FABULOUS people!

Today I have my second LGBT Mardi Gras design. Yes, second!

I decided to do another one that was a little more complex and advanced with a bit more detail and I am so in love. I never wanted to take it off but unfortunately it started lifting the next day because I forgot to wash my hands after applying oil before I painted them and the oil must have been on my nail still.

My Gay Pride Nails For The 2015 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

Hi guys,

It's that time of year again! Mardi Gras time in Sydney, Australia. I know there is a Mardi Gras in New Orleans that also involves a lot of half naked people in the street, but ours is better because a) drag queens and b) floats. Plus, gay people really know how to party!

So, because I can't be in Sydney for the Pride Parade this weekend, I painted my nails!! I plan on doing a inspired by/recreation of my pride nails from last year and posting those tomorrow but for today I have these simple gay pride nails :)

See more photos after the jump!

Color Club Love Tahiry Collection Swatches & Review (Plus a discount code!)

Hi guys!

I have had the most rediculously busy last few weeks that I've barely had enough time to instagram, let alone sit and blog! But I'm back and I have the Love Tahiry Collection by Color Club to show you all today.

The Color Club Love Tahiry Collection is a set of seven Valentine's Day themed polishes designed by Tahiry Jose. Being an Aussie, I had NO idea who she was because 'Love and Hip Hop' doesn't air here, but the polishes are all AMAZING colours. I know Valentine's Day has passed but I love these shades, and will be wearing them year round.

I am a creme polish fan so I was so happy this collection had 5 of them in it. It also has one medium/full coverage glitter (depending on how you apply it and how many coats) and one heart shaped glitter topper. Plus they are also scented! I have a really sensitive nose (no joke, I could literally work at the airport finding drugs...) so I wasn't too sure about the scented part as I didn't want to be smelling them all night while I slept. I found one coat of my top coat did nothing to hide the smell but when I added a couple it almost masked. I could still smell it slightly but only when I lifted my nail to my nose and sniffed it. If you don't do this all day, you should be fine ;)

OPI Fifty Shades of Grey Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend! I'm super excited for the Superbowl tomorrow as my Patriots are playing and can hopefully take home a win! It's on Monday morning Australia time so both my partner and I have the day off to watch it. Superbowl long weekend!

Today I have the Fifty Shades of Grey Collection from OPI to show you guys! I LOVE grey polish and OPI is my favorite brand so I was excited about this collection and was hoping it was full of grey. I wasn't disappointed!!

All the colours have a strong blue undertone, and even the red is a blue based red. I think this ties the collection together beautifully.

I am curious to see the movie (not enough to pay for a movie ticket.. I'll wait to download it), but only to see what a massive train wreck it will be. I lost what minimal interest I had when Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the Christian Grey role.

I have a LOT more to say about the books, which I'll put at the end of the review, but even if I'm 'meh' about the movie I am SO excited about the collection!

I mean come on!

Full review after the jump :)

Australia Day Nails!! Aussie Aussie Aussie...

Happy Australia Day guys!

Just a quick post to share my nails for Australia Day this year :)

I ordered the amazing water decals on my ring and middle finger from eBay and love how they look with the other nails. Decals are one of the easiest ways of having amazing nails. They're basically a tattoo for your nail :)

I matched them with the Aboriginal flag and some Aboriginal inspired artwork since it's their country. My thumb still has the Australian flag on it from my Australian Soccer nails since I thought it would look amazing with this design too.

My favorite though is my index nail. You can't really tell, but the dots are SOO tiny and there are so many of them on there!

Have a great Australia Day, my fellow Aussies!

My Australia Nails For The Soccer!

Happy Friday night everyone!

Today's nails are from last night but I had a CRAZY night at the football and didn't get home till midnight, so I went straight to bed.

My boyfriend bought us tickets to go and watch the Asian Cup semi final last night in Brisbane. He used to play football professionally before we met and I had never seen a game in person before so I was super excited to go.

It was insaaaaane!! The atmosphere in the stadium was incredible and the China fans were so high energy. A Chinese billionaire bought 5,000 tickets to the game and gave them away to Chinese supporters to help increase the numbers so the stadium was about 70% Aussie fans and 30% China fans. And the China fans had drums and were chanting the whole time. It was incredible to see their support even till the end whistle.

Australia ended up winning 2-0 so it was worth going!

Anyway, on to my nails!

Hand Painted Purple Rose & Tutorial

Hey guys!

Just a quick post today to show you these awesome hand painted roses and a video tutorial to show you how easy they are to do.

I used polish to do the roses as it's not too hard for me to do roses with polish, however if you are a beginner then it's best to start with acrylic paint as it's a lot easier to manage on the nail as polish dries faster and 'gloopier', if that's even a word! You can see below in the video tutorial what I mean.

Water Spotted Nail Design

Hi guys!

This is an easy technique that you only need an alcohol based liquid spray to create the pattern in nail polish in the water.

Look how cool they look! And they're super easy to do, as shown in the tutorial below!

2014 Favorite Nail Designs

I can't believe 2014 is over already! I swear it was March 5 weeks ago..

Since I usually post my monthly favourite nails I thought a yearly wrap up had to be done too, and it was so great to go back and see the start of my instagram and blogging nail journey and the mani's I created when I was starting to post them seriously and more 'professionally' on Instagram in February.

I tried to limit the amount I picked, but you guys, it was hard to pick less than 20!! Lol! so many of them I love.  Anyway, this was the lot that I ended up with.

My top faves have to be the Daria nails, the SOA nails, the nautical ones and the green and pink flowers.

Did you have a favorite? Let me know down below :)
