Hospitals, Cakes & Sparkly Nails

Hi guys,

I have had an INSANE week. My partner was admitted to hospital last week with a severe case of pneumonia and it was so scary seeing him so sick. Lots of IV's, an oxygen tube, SO much medication and tests. It was the worst week ever and I spent as many hours there as the hospital would let me. He's home now and doing much better but I had no time for nailart when I got home from the hospital each night and apparently nail polish isn't welcome in the respiratory ward of the hospital :P haha

I also was asked to make 24 cupcakes and a cake for a friends mother-in-law's 60th birthday. I'm not a professional cake decorator but I think I nailed it.

The cake was a rich chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese icing and surrounded by patterned white chocolate tiles. The cupcakes were vanilla sponge topped with a vanilla cream cheese and then everything was topped with edible frangipanis that I hand made and decorated.

Anyway onto the nail art! I had a quick hour free last night so I did a really quick glitter placement mani using two OPI polishes.

I used 'OPI.. Eurso Euro' as a base and then I used the glitter out of 'Polka.Com' to do a glitter placement mani! This all took only about 40 minutes and most of that was waiting for the base to dry so this is a really stunning and quick mani that you can go with almost any colour and glitter combo!

Loose glitter would work just as well and you wouldn't have to wait for the base to dry so it would make it so much easier to do. I can't wait to try this with some different colour combinations :)

 Have a fantastic week!
